Model 1253A Impedance / Gain-Phase Analyzer

Model 1253A Frequency Response Analyzer The 1253A Frequency Response Analyzer (FRA) is an instrument that is capable of meeting today's measurement requirements for dynamic system analysis. Using the single Sine Correlation technique (SSC), it provides precise data relating to the gain and phase between any points in a dynamic system. This instrument enables engineers to perform searching analysis to assess performance of both simple or complex systems.

Features

  • AC amplitude range - 0 to 10.23 V rms
  • Sine, square and triangle waveforms
  • Frequency range 1 mHz to 20 kHz
  • Transfer function accuracy 1%, 1°
Applications
Transfer Function Analysis of Control Systems
Used stand-alone, the 1253A is routinely used to characterize:
  • Automated test systems
  • Power supplies (PSUs)
  • Aircraft instrumentation/system controls
  • Aerodynamic tests
  • Weapons guidance systems
  • Rocket propulsion and vectoring technology
Electrochemistry
The 1253A in conjunction with a model 1287A potentiostat can be used to measure the impedance of electrochemical cells. Typical applications include:
  • Corrosion and inhibitor studies
  • Fuel cell testing and battery research
  • Characterization of thin films and coatings
  • Electroanalytical systems
Materials Science
Impedance measurements of materials and components can be performed with a 1253A plus a 1296A or 1294A Interface. Applications include:
  • Dielectric materials testing (dielectric constant, permittivity, tan-delta, dielectric loss)
  • Characterization of fuel cell components
  • Analysis of curing and polymerization reactions
  • Charge transport in semiconductors, organic crystals and ceramics
  • Bio-impedance tests on live subjects
